Microsoft drop PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds ad for similarities to fan made imageTime: Jan. 3, 2018 From: SCDKey
Playerunknowns Battlegrounds Xbox One Key Global is not only an uncontrolled and revolutionary success for PC, it is also a new standard title for Microsoft in Xbox One, where it still appears in the preview program of the platform. Unfortunately, it seems that Microsoft made a big mistake with the image of an ad that looks a lot like a fan art.
The fan in question is the user of Reddit Macsterr, who published a very good advertising concept for Xbox One PUBG two months ago. It shows an Xbox One console that is dominated by a box with a PUBG player in the middle. Derived from a background image of another fan, it is a poignant idea for marketing material.
As you can see, Microsoft's much younger official announcement bears a similar resemblance to the concept made by a fan.
The message from Macsterr that reveals the apparent copy became one of Reddit's best shipments during the week, prompting Microsoft to eliminate the offensive tweet.
While a business may legally be allowed to do almost anything with a custom-made work based on its intellectual property, the "not great, brother" response from the community is understandable.
