Sleeping Dogs Studio Shuts Down SuddenlyTime: Nov. 16, 2016 From: SCDKey
United Front Games, the Vancouver, British Columbia based developer behind Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition Steam CD Key, has shut its doors. The move was pretty much out of the blue. The studio was in the middle of developing the online game Smash+Grab, which just landed on Steam Early Access and was getting "mostly positive" feedback from gamers. No official announcement has been made, but Kotaku Australia has confirmed the closure with an employee at the company, and Smash+Grab has been pulled from Steam.
You can still access the page, but there’s no longer any way to download the game. Nexon was set to publish the title. The game just had a free weekend on Steam, so the closure of the studio seems very sudden indeed. United Front cancelled Triad Wars, the multiplayer component of Sleeping Dogs, earlier this year.
All of this is a huge shame. Sleeping Dogs was a terrific open-world crime game that did a lot of interesting things with the GTA formula. It’s always sad when a studio closes its doors, but especially when that studio has created such a great game.
United Front Games also contributed to projects like Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition and Disney Infinity. SCDKey.com has reached out to the company for comment and will report back if I find anything else out.
